I only made it to half of Jack’s game, because Owen and I were 1.5 hours away for his game, but from what I saw of the Jr. PeeWee gold team, I was very impressed.
(Kevin is the head coach, so he filled me in, play-by-play (!), on the first half . In fact, he’s replayed the game several times for me!!!). Many of the boys on this team are less-experienced football players, but I thought they played like pros.
I’ve heard from Kevin and Jack how hard everyone had worked through training camp, and it showed. The team they played went undefeated last year, scoring 33 points on last year’s Solebury team. Yesterday was a different story, NHS came up on the short end of the scoreboard, but just barely, holding Northampton to just six points. Unfortunately, they just didn’t quite get their own points on the board. However, they are in a great position to have a winning season.
Jack was all over the other team, living in their backfield and busting up play after play. He also got his first chances to consistently run the ball and added some solid offensive yardage. I’m really looking forward to seeing the reason of the games and completely expect this team to surprise a lot of people with their skill.
(One of the perks of having your father as the equipment manager is that you get to choose your number. Out of all the possibilities, Jack chose #24 because that’s the number his grandfather wore when he played football.)

AWESOME pictures. The last two where jack was diving through the center’s legs are incredible……he came SO CLOSE to getting the ball (in fact, I think in the second to the last picture, the ball appears to be in the air a bit).
