This was the first week of soccer. Jack has two years of Solebury Soccer Club intramurals under his belt, but this was Owen’s first year. Photos of the two games are here.
They both had great games … Owen was a little tiger, and paid attention the WHOLE time and really, really enjoyed his game. He said, “Now I know what my soccer game will be like. I can’t wait for my next game!!!” His team is the “Stealers” ’cause they’re good at taking the ball away from their opponents.
For Jack, it was the first time he’d played a “real” game — with positions and goalies and all. (Kindergarten soccer is kind of a free-for-all; four-on-four with no goalies).
It took Jack most of the first half to figure our the rhythm of the game, when to stay back on defense and when to move up. However, by the second half, he’d recovered his aggressiveness and took a number of shots on goal, scoring once and played GREAT defense.
I can tell that Owen is really going to do well in soccer this year. He looks so intense. And Jack looks so tall! Has he grown about six inches in the past month? He looks taller than the rest of the boys. Fiona certainly looks like she was interested in the games and cheering her brothers. Way to go McKennas. Aunt Jo
