The Intelligencer ran a season wrap-up for Jack’s team in Home Fields this week.  The online link is here.

The team is trying to put together a group to play fall ball. Jack says he wants to play, as long as he doesn’t miss any football.

(I’m hoping playing fall baseball will help him feel a little better about being abruptly cut by the Solebury Storm U12 Soccer team coach after three years on the team so that four players from other townships could play on the team.)

Solebury U10 Little Leaguers Go 4-2

_MG_7374Jack played on Solebury’s U10 Little League team this summer. It seems the team set a Solebury record of winning more games in the tournament than any other Solebury team ever has.

They won four straight (as part of an eight-game winning streak), before losing their last two to get knocked out of the tournament.

It was a great team effort, with lots of hitting and [click to continue…]

(I’m a bit behind on posting photos from some of the summer activities, so I’m trying hard to catch up. The Southampton tournament was at the beginning of the month.)_MG_6302The Solebury U10 baseball team FINALLY worked out their slump. The bats came alive and the pitching was great. They made a few of the other teams a bit angry [click to continue…]

_MG_0531Unfortunately, the slump continues. :-(

The Spiders played well, but just couldn’t quite pull off a win against Doylestown — a team they beat earlier in the season — in the playoffs.

On a bright note for Jack, he had a nice hit into the outfield.

Some photos from the game are here.

_mg_8637-editThe roboball cheetahs (or “cheetos” as the kids called themselves) finished up a great season.

Some photos from the last of the season are here. (If you make it to the end, there are some great headshots of a few of them. I’m sorry I didn’t get one of everyone; they were very squirmy at that point.)

Thanks to parents and players for a lot of fun. Have a great summer.

The Mangan Mets went 4-1-1 to end the season playing their best baseball of the year.  All the boys contributed, and I think they all improved their skills in one way or another.

Some photos from the last few games are here._mg_7544

_mg_6571The Spiders were in a bit of a slump, but it looks like they’re coming out of it just at the right time, with the playoffs starting this weekend. The bats are warming up and the defense is looking strong.

I’m a bit behind on posting photos, so a big collection of photos from the last couple games is here.

The greatest accomplishment is not in never falling, but in rising again after you fall.
—Vince Lombardi

Unfortunately, the Spiders did a bit of falling (both literally and metaphorically) over the weekend at the tournament. There were some magnificent plays, but there were a few more less-than-stellar plays. Shall we say that overall, they didn’t play their best, and leave it at that? [click to continue…]

Jack, after striking out the last batter to get out of the inning. This is about the most emotion I’ve even see Jack show during a game.

The Mets had a FANTASTIC game last night against Lambertville. EVERYONE contributed. It was so much fun to watch. Jack’s highlights included six RBIs from a triple and an inside-the-park homeroom (thanks to Jack’s super-aggressive base running.) [click to continue…]
