Owen’s Birthday Celebration: Paintball & Camping

We all went on Owen’s birthday camping trip this year (some of the early years are here and here).

One of this year’s highlights was a paintball session. “Unfortunately,” Fiona and I couldn’t go because 10 was the minimum age. For once, it didn’t rain during the campout, although it was chilly.

A Very Merry Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas, full of surprises and wishes granted. Santa was very good as was everyone else. We had great meals and better company.

Halloween Parade at Germantown

The big-deal Halloween parade at Germantown Academy was today. Everyone looked wonderful. The whole school, from pre-K to seniors comes out to the quad and parades around.

The PK teachers were famous GA athletes from the past, the 3rd grade teachers were Phillies “fans,” and the 5th grade teachers were bats in the belfry.

Ryan & Kristen are Married!

YEAH!!! We had such a wonderful time at the wedding. The whole day was just perfect.

I’m very sorry I’m not a better wedding/people photographer, but even so, with my less-than-stellar photos, I think you can see how much fun everyone had and how beautiful the wedding was.

Congratulations Ryan & Kristen!! We love you.

Christmas in Odessa

On Saturday, we went down to Odessa, Del., for the Christmas display. Kevin’s business partners, Don & Betts, had their home on the holiday tour.

The historic homes are all decorated for the holidays and it was a wonderful trip, although we didn’t get to visit with Don & Betts as much as we’d like (as we were leaving, Jack started complaining that he wanted to stay longer because the food — thanks Betts! — “was awesome!” and Don’s stories “were so funny.”)

Don’t they look cute all dressed up? We were on the way to the Nutcracker ballet and they allowed me to take some photos. Owen requested the bow tie for his holiday outfit this year. I had to crop Jack out because he was all scowly because he didn’t want to get dressed up and wanted to stay home and watch football.

I just realized….Owen and Fiona are touching. Does that make this a bizarr-o photo?

Trick or Treating 2008

The kids brought home more candy this year than they ever have, so I guess trick or treating was a success.

We dropped Jack and Owen off at Jack’s friend Charlie’s house about 6:00 and Charlie’s dad took them around and then brought them home. In the slideshow, Charlie is the grim reaper.

We were worried that Fiona would be upset about not being included, but she was quite happy to be an only child for the evening. Her only request was that she wanted to get out of the car to show Charlie her costume.

We went to ‘Seppe’s for dinner to kill some time (FIona insisted that we couldn’t start trick or treating until it was dark out.) Then we took Fiona around a small neighborhood near us.

She very much enjoyed being in charge of ringing the doorbells and collected a large bag full of candy.
