And we had a great time. First we had fun in Columbia with Aunt Jo and Uncle Kevan. Then we went on to Southeast Missouri and Lake Wappappello.

Owen’s godmother, Miss Margaret, and extended god-family: Becca, Lizzie, Mike and Mark, gave the boys a birthday pool party at CEC on Saturday. They swam, had water balloon fights, ate pizza, cake and ice cream and got GREAT gifts! You can see the photos here.

Owen got to go to soccer camp this year and HE IS LOVING EVERY MINUTE. You can share his fun by looking at his photos.
Owen is finally old enough to do soccer camp and he’s really enjoying it. In fact, they offered an evening session (in addition to … Read the rest⇒

Last year, we started a new tradition. Each boy gets to pick a special activity to do with Kevin … just him and Kevin. Last year, Kevin and Owen went camping and Kevin and Jack went to see Manchester United play Glasgow Celtic.
This year, Owen said he wanted to … Read the rest⇒

This is one of the original bizzar-o photos. (No, the boys are not practicing synchronized swimming.)
This is from March 2001, when we took a spur-of-the moment weekend trip to Chincoteague, Va., to see the ponies. We had a great hotel suite and the boys had a great … Read the rest⇒

Another new scrapbook page. I’ve been on a roll. Actually, what happened was that since my hard drive crashed in February, my computer’s been a bit weird to me and then about two weeks ago, my external hard drive started acting funky … so I decided to back that up … Read the rest⇒

Fiona and I spent everyday of the last two weeks in June at the Philadelphia Zoo as Jack and Owen attended zoo camp (more about that elsewhere). On the last day, the boys got their faces painted as a little “graduation celebration.” (FYI, Owen is a skeleton, … Read the rest⇒

We had a bike-riding outing the other day at Grandmom & DadDads.
Although Jack has been doing well without his training wheels all spring and summer, I guess he was just not on his game. Jack immediately had several wipe outs.
Each time Jack fell, Owen screeched to a stop, … Read the rest⇒

Don’t know why (isn’t that always so in the Bizzar-o photos?), but Jack and Owen apparently just needed to hold hands and talk.
Owen just came and asked me, “Mommy, what does ‘debauchery’ mean?”
Kevin and I just looked at each other, and one of us came up with, “it means eating or drinking too much, or not going to work and just over-enjoying yourself.”
We then asked him where he’d ever heard … Read the rest⇒
Last summer, the boys went to CEC and had swimming first thing in the morning, so they wore their suits to school and brought clothes to change into. One day, Jack either forgot or misplaced his underpants, so when he got dressed he just went without.
His teacher, Mr. Mike, … Read the rest⇒
Jack and Owen listen to the radio news when it’s on, and always ask a lot of questions. For a while now, they’ve been focused on the situation in Iraq. This morning, they heard the report of the mess hall bombing. The conversation went like this:
Jack: “What did the … Read the rest⇒

After I posted the other photo of Jack & Owen together, I remembered this one from about a week ago. I guess instances of them getting along aren’t as rare as they are fleeting. I’ll try to keep track of them here.

I have NO IDEA how Jack & Owen ended up sitting together in this chair. And even less of an idea how it lasted long enough for me to actually get a photo. We’ve been having a really tough week with them fighting constantly.
All of a sudden I looked … Read the rest⇒

Owen played t-ball for the first time this year. He just made the cut off (you have to be five by Aug. 1). He’s not the best one on his team, but certainly not the worst either.
Physically, he has great skills and talent. However, like any four-year-old, … Read the rest⇒
