Value of Germantown

f_ga

It is worth every penny we pay in tuition if Fiona goes to sleep before 8:00 PM the rest of the year!!

BTW, everyone had a great first day. Fiona said that “lots of different teachers came to our room and told us stuff.” She said one or two kids …

YEAH! School started today.

Everyone got up, ate breakfast and got ready with a minimum of fuss.

Jack was worried the whole time that he was going to be late — we weren’t. (There’s a very narrow window between 7:45 and 7:50 AM that is “acceptable” to Jack to

Well, it all happened again. The bad and the good.

The bad:  An elite wrestler wanted to avoid pain & a loss — cries twice to stop the match, getting himself out of a dangerous position and triggering a “do-over” and a referee who didn’t know the rules cheats Jack …

It’s renewal time for Germantown Academy and I jokingly asked Owen this morning if I should sign him up for another year.

He said, “YES, because today they’re going to let us use the cafeteria trays to go sledding down the hill at recess.”

Jack’s class at Germantown has been studying Henry VIII and they put on a play covering Henry’s marriage with Katherine of Aragon through the reign of Elizabeth.

Owen was …

NHS Field Day

After a “rain delay” on Friday, Jack’s school field day was today.  I don’t remember field days from when I was a kid, but apparently it’s a big deal around here — everyone gets a tshirt, they pick team names and so on.  The theme this year was “Oceans of …
